Farsi Action Foundation (FAF) is pleased to launch a new mental health support and awareness programme for members of our community. We recognise that many people in the communities we support have come from countries affected by conflict, political instability, displacement and prolonged violence. Some have experienced, witnessed, or been affected by traumatic events, including conflict and loss, before arriving in the UK. These experiences can have a lasting impact on emotional wellbeing and may contribute to mental health difficulties.
FAF aims to provide a safe, culturally sensitive and welcoming environment where community members can learn about mental health, discuss concerns, reduce stigma, and access appropriate information, guidance and support. Our programme will include educational and awareness sessions, supportive discussions, and signposting to appropriate professional services where required.
We are pleased that Ms Madina Noorzai, who holds two bachelors in oncology BSC and Psychotheraoy and counselling BA Accredited Therapy in the UK, and is a trainee psychodynamic psychotherapist and BACP accredited trainee in the process of completing her masters. She has joined our team on a voluntary basis. Ms Noorzai will lead and support FAF’s mental health education and awareness programme. We greatly appreciate her commitment and valuable contribution to supporting the wellbeing of our community.
If you or someone you know is experiencing mental health difficulties or would like information about available support, please contact our team. A member of our team will be happy to discuss your needs confidentially and explain the appropriate support available. For further information about Ms Noorzai’s qualifications and experience, please refer to the attached documents.
