Today, the Farsi Action Foundation (FAF) had the pleasure of welcoming Councillor Shehryar Ahmad-Wallana, former Mayor of Hillingdon (2023–2024) and current Councillor for Colham & Cowley Ward, to its London office for a productive and meaningful discussion on community collaboration and local development.

During the meeting, Councillor Ahmad-Wallana highly valued the impactful work of the Farsi Action Foundation in supporting and empowering the local community. He acknowledged the Foundation’s significant contributions, especially in areas related to education, refugee and immigrant integration, community cohesion, mental health awareness, and the prevention of radicalisation and anti-social behaviour.

The CEO of FAF provided an overview of the organisation’s mission and outlined its efforts as the leading immigrant-background organisation in the area, emphasizing the importance of continued and increased support from local authorities to sustain and expand its vital community work.

The meeting also focused on exploring avenues for further collaboration between FAF, the local authority, and other relevant organisations, with a shared commitment to promoting inclusion, resilience, and wellbeing across diverse communities.

As a key outcome of the discussion, it was agreed that a follow-up meeting involving local leaders and community representatives will be arranged to build on today’s progress and deepen cooperative efforts.

The Farsi Action Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Councillor Ahmad-Wallana for his visit and for his continued support of community-led initiatives.
