Following our aim and duty for promoting awareness and safeguarding our cultural heritage, Farsi Action Foundation in the United Kingdom, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Institute in London, hosted a research seminar. This event, held at the Aga Khan Centre in London, focused on the study of rare historical documents from Firuzkuh, dating back 800 years to the Ghurid period. These documents are currently being researched by the esteemed scholar Nabi Saqi from our country, under the auspices of Invisible East Digital Corpus program of the Oxford University.
The gathering began with an insightful presentation by Mr. Saqi, attended by professors, scholars, and enthusiasts of the region’s history. Following his lecture, the seminar continued with an open discussion, during which Mr. Saqi addressed participants’ questions. The event concluded on a cordial note with light refreshments.
At the close of the seminar, an appreciation plaque, prepared by the Farsi Action Foundation, was presented to Mr. Saqi in recognition of his contributions to historical research. The plaque was jointly awarded by Mr. Abdullahi Khorasani, Professor Abdulkhaleq Lalzad, and the talented poet Reza Roozbehan. Additionally, as a gesture of appreciation on behalf of the participants, a statuette designed on the lapis stone from Badakhshan was presented to Mr. Saqi by Arsalan Kohistani, a young private-sector entrepreneur.
Organisers and participants alike expressed their commitment not only to honouring such efforts but also to ensuring the continuity of similar programs aimed at introducing and preserving the treasures of our cultural heritage.
